** i believe **

Our Christmas was wonderful this year. Christmas brings on a whole new meaning when you have children. I hardly could sleep the night before because I was so excited to see Carter's expression when he saw what Santa brought him!

Santa left lots of presents by the tree & C's train table that he asked for!
When he woke up RJ & I went in to get him & he could see the tree lights on and quickly spotted what Santa had left him. He pointed & exclaimed, "is that a train set?! did santa leave a train set for me??!!!"

looking at all the goodies in his stocking
playing with his new train table & trains
Before opening every present he'd asked, "is that a train in there?" & when it did not contain one, he'd quickly push it aside and go after another- & repeat until a train was indeed in there. Then it needed to be opened immediately!

Sissy had fun opening the presents too! She got a new hat in her stocking! Isn't it cute?!
She really liked the bows!
After all the presents had been opened there all alone at the back of the tree was a special box with Carter's name on it. To his surprise, a silver bell awaited inside with a note from Mr. C himself! He was so excited to have a bell from Santa's sleigh!
Carter brought the bell to his ear, shook it to hear its sweet sound. He looked up & quietly said, "i believe."
It was the most perfect moment ever! How adorable is that??!!!! For those of you who don't know, he basically replayed a scene from The Polar Express. Of course NO ONE had a camera on hand to capture that sweet moment on video! ahh!

It was such a great Christmas- Kennedy's first, the bell, & the snow that dumped all day long!
How was your Christmas?

snow days.

Well, the snow is finally melting :( We did enjoy our 2 weeks of the white stuff. However, we are extremely glad to be able to get out of the driveway! It was sooooo bad. RJ's car got stuck & sat up at the top for days & then on Christmas Eve, the neighbor got stuck too! Everyone (except me & the kids) went out to help him get unstuck & ended up being out there for 2 hours! Needless to say our dinner got cold by the time everyone came back in. Oh well.....

These photos are from Monday 12. 22.
look at how deep it is around rj's car (before he got it stuck!)

today...more snow dumped on us all day & the lovely, breezy (56pmh gusts) east wind began...

not sure what's up with that ridiculously bright hat on my dad's head. i guess so we can find him in the blizzard?
"ok, i can't move..."
of course we warmed up with some hot chocolate!

as i type this the temp outside is a chilly 12 degrees F with a wind chill factor of about -7F! yikes!  hope this finds you all warm and cozy!

let it snow! let it snow!

The past week or so we've been in a deep freeze out here & also what the news has named, "Arctic Blast '08"! (dontcha just love the names the news comes up with?!) Today it snowed heavy all morning & C was begging to go out. So we bundled up and headed out!

He had fun throwing snowballs at us!

& chasing us down! "i'm gonna get you!"

Then we built a snowman. His name is Frosty.

After we were all done making Frosty C says to me, "I want the snowman to say hi to me, momma"
so cute!

Once we came in, we warmed up with some yummy peppermint hot cocoa & watched Frosty The Snowman! (of course C said, "daddy, i want to find a magic hat so frosty can say hi to me!"

I am loving all this wintery weather right before Christmas! Now let's hope it stays for until then!

brunch

This morning we trekked up to the View Point Inn to have brunch with my grandparents. The inside was decorated beautifully with a nice warm, cozy, crackling fire while outside it was snowing. It was perfect. just perfect. Even my peppermint mocha was perfect.

Then we played out in the snow for a bit once we got home. Its the most wonderful time of the year!
