{deck the halls}

the holiday decor is going up around here.....

new nativity scene for the kids to learn about the birth of Jesus. Its fantastic! Its from Playmobil & the kids love it. In fact, C makes the angel "fly" by tossing is across the room!

this year i am kind diggin' a cozy, cabin-y, ski lodge-y like theme for my decor. i am going to attempt to make my own sweater pillows {like these} from some old ones of mine. {see, keeping stuff around is good & handy! you never know when a crafty project might come up!}

have you begun to deck your halls yet?
any particular theme or color style you dress your house up in for the holidays?

bedroom transformation: duvet!

so i finally got around to sewing the duvet cover for C's bed.  sewing while the kids are awake & up underneath my feet constantly just doesn't workout, hmm, wonder why?!! haha.
 i made it reversible with the dots fabric that i used on the curtains. i love how it turned out!
 of course C wants nothing to do with the
new blanket! he wants his old one back! i also made the headboard with the extra fabric!

next up is some pillow cases! i am sure C will protest and want his current pillow cases!

bedroom transformation: curtains!

curtains are up!

sewn by yours truly! :)

i took a full flat sheet & cut in in half. {the store was out of twin, which is what i preferred but a full works too!}
then sewed the print over the top to make it somewhat darker over the window area.
i am quite pleased with how they came out! it was the first time i'd had ever designed & made curtains myself! & it was easy-peasy

**next up: duvet cover & pillows!

bedroom transformation: a work in progress!

C's bedroom transformation is just about complete.

the walls are painted. thanks to C taking the initiative {he decided he wanted to paint his own room by himself. found him covered in paint one morning along with some of the walls.} so, we went off to Home Depot bought actual paint for the walls & painted! He lasted a whole 10 minutes then wanted to stop! ha!

Over the weekend, we hung up some of C's artwork & a canvas of him at 6 months old. My heart melts whenever I look at it.

**how about them construction worker jammies?! you like?!!! :)

** i had to bribe him w/ m'sm's to get him to turn around and give me a smile. stinker.

next up: curtains!
