chubby smiles

Yesterday I was getting some adorable lil smiles from Kennedy! Look at how chubby she is getting!!! Chunk-a-monk alert!!! She is really starting to make all kinds of faces and they just crack me up! She smiles really big when Carter leans down towards her and says, "Look at her..." I love seeing her lil personality coming out. She is even trying to make some "cooing" noises. It'll be interesting to see what kinda of personality she will have. We already have one kid who is a non-stop talker & completely silly....

Dozer Day!!!

"I going to Dozer Days, I going to Dozer Days, yah.....I going to Dozer Days right now...." was what we heard coming from the back seat on our way to you guessed it, Dozer Day! A certain little boy was just a tad excited! I'll have to admit that I was a bit excited too! There is just something about seeing things through the eyes of your child, especially when it's something they are totally excited about. Seeing that joy is so awesome.

Today was another blazing hot day! The site was packed too! When we first drove up you could see the big articulating dump trucks driving up and down and hill & they were giving rides!!! Carter goes, "WHOA! HOOGE dump truck there!" hahaha!!!! How fun! Of course the line for that one was mega long! So being the rad parents that we are, we stood in that enormous line (getting sun burnt...I did anyways! argh!) so that our Son could enjoy a HOOGE dump truck ride! It was fun though! There was also some super big equipment right at the entrance. I couldn't believe how ginormous they were!

Carter and his little hard hat! He's so cute!!!! We are standing in the line for the dump truck ride....

Once we got up to the top of the hill there were about 30 + different diggers, bulldozers & backhoe diggers to ride! The kids could climb in and with the help of an operator they could scoop, dig and move dirt all around!!! C of course first spotted the fire truck and wanted to check it out. He got to "drive" it. I guess all the other kids just climbed in and moved the wheel around but C had to go for all the buttons and  switches! haha!!!

Then we moved on to ride a digger! RJ was holding C while we were waiting in line to ride & C grabbed his face and pulled it towards him & said, "I want to ride the digger, Daddy"!!!
Check out his shirt!!!!!

After our nap (yes I napped too!!!) today we enjoyed some ice cold treats out on the back deck & some splashing fun in the pool! Carter almost got her wet while she was snoozing away! oops!

We had such a fantastic day today! Carter kept saying, "I go to Dozer Days, yah..." Then we had to tell him that it was over and that it'll come back next year. So then he changed it to, "Dozer days is over...all gone...."

Until next year.....

waterfall!

Its scorching hot! It got up to 96F today so we loaded up the kids and headed down town to Jamison Park in the Pearl. There is a rock wall that a waterfall spills over it & pools up at the bottom. Tons of kids flock here to splash in the water! Apparently everyone & their mom had the same idea we did today....

Carter has been so interested in waterfalls lately (random, I know) and we thought he would love to go and splash around in the one down there! At first he didn't know what to think of it. I think he was a bit overwhelmed by the massive amount of kids everywhere! He eventually warmed up to the water and put his hands in!
Kennedy chilled out in the shade while brother played!

The water starts flowing and gradually builds up & pools up then slowly receeds only then to repeat again! All the kids screamed when the water would start flowing again! haha. Carter loved it. He loved putting his hands in the water and then eventually he sat down in the pooled up part!!! He was drenched!!!! But it felt soooo good!!!!

After we dried off we strolled around the Pearl for a bit and worked our way up to Whole Foods for lunch and a Ruby Jewel ice cream sandwich dessert treat! ;)

It was still way warm out after dinner so we decided to go for a walk up the "hooge" park. It feels like the middle of summer out! It feels so good! Carter enjoyed playing at the park for a little bit, going up and down the slide & running all around. He even spotted the moon! "I see the moon Mommy!!!" hahaha!!!

We had such a great day today! It was so fun! Tomorrow is an even bigger day! Tomorrow is Dozer Day! Some local construction companies along with local sponsors are hosting a fundraiser for Vancouver parks. It's being held in a former rock quarry that is now a commercial development. So there will be all sorts of big equipment on display and even some to ride!!! Carter is going to LOVE it!!! I am so excited to see his reaction tomorrow!!!! =)

cheers!

Mother's Day!

Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all you Momma's out there! =)
We had a wonderful day yesterday! Here are my two kiddos being super cute! I am so blessed to have such CUTE kids!!!!! ;) Carter goes, "I hold sissy"

We were treated to a delicious brunch! The chefs: the boys & my sister!

The menu: scrambled eggs chiliquilies with roasted tomatillo sauce, farmers skillet (eggs, potatoes, & chicken sausage), fresh fruit & a fresh fruit smoothie (strawberry, mango, banana)!
It was soooooo good!!!!

I got the cutest card from my "two, one, two kids!" That's how Carter counts. He starts always at two (when there is 2 of something)!!! Its so funny. The card had the breakfast menu on the inside with a photo of chef Carter. Then on the back were the kids' handprints! Look at how cute they are!!! Kennedy's hand is so tiny!!!!

I also got a beautiful necklace! Its a mother of pearl with a inlay of silver. It symbolizes the beauty of motherhood and the bond between momma's & their kids! Its so lovely! Plus, I got a super nice bottle of wine! Its a Bergstrom 2006 Pinot Noir! I was told that it's all mine & I get to chose to drink it whenever and if I want to share it or not is up to me too!!!
RJ, you did great! ;)

Me & my "two, one, two" kids!!!!!
Once the kiddos went down for a snooze, my mom, sister & I went and got pedicures! That was so fun & relaxing! We had such a fantastic day hanging out all together! It was the perfect day!

art & a birthday celebration

We had a very good but busy weekend jammed packed with all sorts of activities & celebrations!

We donated some of our photographs from our trip to Spain a couple of years ago to sell at an auction & dinner our church held. It was to help raise money for the missions fund. We are sending a team to New Orleans this summer and a team to Swaziland, Africa next year. Friday night was the dinner & auction. Our photographs helped raise over $600!!! I am so proud of our artwork & that it helped go towards something good! I was also so proud that people really liked our work enough to bid on them!!

Friday morning Kennedy was giving us some really great faces! I love seeing her lil personality starting to emerge!

Then on Saturday we took my dad downtown to the Pearl to celebrate his birthday! We went to Bridgeport Brewery & enjoyed some delicious burgers & beer! After lunch we strolled through the Pearl and worked our way to Whole Foods to pick up a tasty treat! A Ruby Jewel ice cream sandwich! YUM!

Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day at my parents house! But I'll blog that post later!
