au revoir summer,

we had so much fun with you while it lasted... 

maui was amazing. digging in the sand & splashing in the waves was the best. 

playing in the back yard, sand table, & swimming in the pool,

ducking underneath the big umbrella for picnic lunches.

wearing red, white & blue while watching the fire trucks in the parade.

walks to the park & swinging as high as we can go,

hiking to see waterfalls & along the waterfront.

taking the train to seattle with lola & papi,

roasting marshmellows while camping.

boating,

soccer,

running,

laughter,

fun.

thank you summer, see you next year. 

{one last time}

ok so i've been really, really bad at blogging this whole summer. truth is, i was super busy {& still am} with photo sessions, weddings & editing all said photos that i have totally neglected to do anything with any of my own photos! so, so sorry all! i am pretty sure i've lost all of my blog readers! HELLO?! anyone out there?! 

on saturday i took C to meet up with my parents & my uncle & cousins for one last boating adventure before the cold & rain sets in. {i am actually really looking forward to the icky weather! warm soups, sweaters, jeans, boots, fresh baked breads...mmmm fall!} 

we had a good time. we only stayed out for a couple hours because 1. we went up to lake merwin & i've never been there before & didn't realize how way out in the boonies it is! 2. it was windy 3. the water was FREEZING! however, neither of those things mattered to C. he dug in the sand & flung the sand & we built a dam out of sticks! 

all the while, sissy & daddy stayed home with the sniffles & the coughs. we had a tough week of no sleep each night. the kids graciously took turns nightly waking up. it was great. the sniffles and the cough are still around. boo!

there's a playhouse in our living room!

room for squares

Over the long Labor Day weekend I decided to repaint the kids' bedroom! I wanted something fun & modern & not too kidsy. So I chose chocolate brown for the walls & repainted the squares on the accent wall in caribbean blue, very berry pink & apple green! I still have to go and get fabric to make curtains, duvet covers & pillows! Then hang up some fun canvas art work C & I did{to balance out the brown} then hang up white frames with black & whites of the babes! {this is so sad, I am a photographer and I have no photos on my walls! ok, maybe like 5 & thats it! gasp!}

I love how the room turned out! so fun!! 

* the one square in the upper left on the accent wall for some reason is showing up a tad red...
