peace out 5 year old days!

good morning sleepy head!
a rather lovely way to spend the early hours is to snuggle with your sissy
& watch lego star wars on youtube

slurp. i mean sip chocolate milk.
chocolate milk does the body good, right? yep. thought so.

make silly faces at your mom when she asks to take your picture. its a requirement of all kids.
if you don't know this by now, we need to have a chat.

time to hit the playroom to further sharpen your super creative lego building skills.
p.s. look past the humungous surrounding mess. creative minds at work here! & besides, i'll clean it up later. or get someone else to do it for me! because that's how 5 year olds roll, baby.
muahahahahaha......

pretend your parents bedroom is ice planet hoth & you are shooting down the walkers.
be quick. run, i mean fly fast in your landspeeder.  the force is with you luke.

continue fighting off the evil forces of the dark side. & make sure Princess Leia is safe.

jedi forces are no joke!  you better snuggle up to your sissy, rest & watch a movie to regain your strength.

& what better way to fuel up for  more battling than with nachos for lunch! {per your request}

so its now after lunch and your mother insists on getting the playroom clean {insert eye-rolling, loud stomping & whining to protest against this nonsense}. but, wait! your lovely auntie codie {& stinky uncle alex} sent you a birthday present, EARLY & you get to open it because auntie INSISTS. score!

loud gasps, "woo-hoos" & various other things shout from your mouth as you cannot believe your eyes! "mom, i've wanted this my whole life!!!!!"
"auntie codie is. the. BEST!"

clean up can WAIT. "life savers" must battle for reals.

time to get building that sweet land speeder!

it's probably a good idea after a hard day's work of being a jedi, to properly clean your body.
bubble bath it is!
awww, this is the life.

a fun visit from Tita Leila & Lolo! & they brought gifts!

pizza is requested for dinner. time to chow!
oh & strawberry, banana smoothies. don't forget that.
this whole 'saying goodbye to 5 year olds' business is a tough job!

A D I O S 5 year old days!
bring it 6 year old days! :)

snowmaggedon twenty-twelve.

back in January, it snowed. and snowed. and snowed some more! it was so much fun. i think by the end the grand total of snow was around 10". we would've had more but it warmed up a few times & melted a little before it dumped more snow. the kids missed a week of school & we lost power for 3.5 days! luckily our new house came with a built in whole house generator! yes, friends, WHOLE HOUSE. that means, as soon as the power goes out, the generator kicks on automatically & it can power pretty much the whole house.

each day we'd trudge around in the snow, building bunkers for snowball fights, making snow angels, sledding down the hill at the park & playing board games with our neighbors! in fact, they stayed with us while the power was out.

the kids hated that the power was "out" {we didn't turn on the tv or watch movies etc} but they loved all the snow! they keep asking when is it gonna snow again!

looking down our street. a huge front loader came and plowed the road!

notice that tree in the front. well, it snapped in half from the weight of the ice. boo :(

& a couple hrs later, the road was back covered again!

looking up the street from our house

the tree is beginning to fold over
