we survived!

We, well, I should say I...I made it through the first week home alone with two kids!!! It wasn't so bad. We had a couple of melt downs but that's expected from a Mom of two...I mean from a two year old! heehee.....Carter threw a couple of fits and got into all kinds of things he normally doesn't get in to. I think it's because he knows mommy can't get to him as fast as she used to. Sneaky lil boy! Meal times were the hardest because lil Miss K decided she MUST eat at the same time everyone else does so that was a bit challenging trying to get lunch &/or dinner ready for everyone while she was screaming "feed me now!!!!" =)

Oh & on the first time we had a serious accident! Carter was "helping" wash dishes (aka standing on a stool in front of the sink and spraying water everywhere!) while I was getting lunch ready. He went to grab for a scrub brush and slipped off the stool & over backwards he went! He had a coffee mug in his hands and well, it went flying too, shattering to the floor! A shard landed on the floor RIGHT next to K's bouncy seat! AHHHHH! In my head I am thinking, great, just great I am gonna have to haul my two kids in to the ER on my first day alone! cripes!!! Luckily no one got hurt! phew! Talk about a heart attack!
Good times!!!! Oh what fun adventures that will fill my days from now on!!! =) They say you aren't really a "parent" until you have two....I am finding that it's true! ;)

Carter washing dishes!

sweet sibling moments make my crazy days all worth while!

babykins

Kennedy is two weeks old today! yay! It seems like she has been a part of our family all along. She completes our lil family unit! =)

Yesterday I took her to her 2 week well baby check up & lil miss porker now weighs 8lbs! She measured 21 inches long! So the dr. thinks that they measured her wrong at the hospital when she was born. When I went back and looked at the photos RJ had taken one of her being measured and sure enough the measurement was wrong! The nurse didn't even stretch her leg
out straight! So she was longer than 19 inches! But what exactly, we'll never know. That's annoying! Now what am I supposed to put on her birth announcements?! So I think I am just gonna say 19 inches. =)
All is well at Casa del Ray!

so sweet.

Last weekend I took some 1 week old portraits of my sweet baby girl! Here's just a sample of some of the many beautiful photos I got of her! I am so in love w/ her sweetness! She is just too precious!
Yes Kennedy, that black box stuck in front of your face 24/7 are mommy & daddy's camera...get used to it! ;)
I have lots more it's just finding the time to edit them all! ;)

Carter & the HOOGE digger.....

My Aunt Sue gave Carter this digger for Christmas & his birthday and this last weekend was the first weekend he got to play with it! We went out to Papi & Lola's & lucky C because they had it all set up for him! He played out in the rock pile digging & scooping for a long time! (there was also the tractor and the 4wheeler to keep him occupied all day!!) We couldn't get him to go back inside! =)

a labor of love...

Ok so I've some requests about how labor went so here it goes...

Labor was well, labor. I went in to the hospital at 2:30pm and I was already 7cm dilated & 80% effaced! The nurses were freaking out about how I could be up walking around at 7cm! Haha! So needless to say they admitted me! The nurse offered to wheel me to my room in a wheel chair but I said I could walk! haha...
They broke my water at 4:35pm with hopes of it going really quick. The thought was that by doing so, it would suck her head down and she would be out in less than an hour. So I was like let's do it. However, that did not happen! Her head was sideways going into my pelvis so she wasn't turning to slide out! Plus It was preventing a small lip of the cervix to not go away & thin out. So about an hour and a half later of GRUELING labor I asked for the epidural. Then once it was in, it didn't full take! So I could still feel my left side! Which was worse b/c the pain was super intensified! So he gave me another shot of meds & it still didn't take! So he took the epidural out and after that point the area was covered and I got numb on that side! haha! So I only had about an hr of meds to last me! But that was fine because at that point it was time for me to push anyways. So the nurse had me push once to see how well I could do and well apparently I could push really well because she goes, "um stop...you are too good at this...I need to find the doctor now!" Plus my dad, Nana, my sister left to go get something to eat! So RJ had to run out and call them to have them come back!!!
It was glorious to be able to be relaxed and push! I was so numb but I was really able to enjoy the whole pushing process and watch her being born! I got to see it all in a mirror & that was fantastic! It was amazing!
My body feels good. sore. Like I just did an insane work out at the gym sore....
I ended up tearing a small spot on my cervix. Ugh! But there should be no future worries with it. The hardest part is not being able to pick C up and carry him. It makes me sad but in no time I will be able to!
Thanks for all your well wishes & prayers!

in labor & texting....haha!                  here we go!

so in love...

We are home! It feels so good to be in our own comfy home. We are still adjusting to life with two kiddos! But things are going well. C of course LOVES his baby sissy. He wants to know where she is at all times.  He has even requested that she sleeps with him! Its so cute!
So I thought I'd share some of the most ADORABLE moments ever....

It's amazing how much she has changed from the day we first met her. She is getting more gorgeous to me by the second! ;)

April 6th 2008 @ 11:00 AM

She's around 16 hours old now and we have literally hundreds of pictures as expected, but here are just a few as a sneak peak at what is to come.  We've heard a lot of "She looks just like Carter!" so far.

Hopefully we'll be home later tonight and we can post for real.  For some reason the wireless here blocks blogger and myspace, our phones don't work and until recently we had a broken room phone.  It's been a tough road for the two of us who are usually highly connected via our iphones and laptops.

Time to go, Carter is here and he is demanding Cookies!

yay spring!

I am so glad that the weather is looking a lot more like spring!
While we are waiting for this lil "i'm-going-to-come-on-my-own-sweet-time" baby, we went out for a walk, a very long walk! We walked up to the park to play! C is loving being outside & asks to go to the park every day! He loves to go down the slides & throw his soccer ball around.
I think we've walked to the park several times a day for the past few days! hahaha!!!
