pickin' blueberries

Today my mom & I went up to the Klock's farm to pick blueberries & we brought along Carter to help! haha! He was such a good lil helper! I am not sure how much help he really was, other than eating his weight in blueberries!!! haha!!
My mom had already started down the row to begin picking & Carter & I were still at the beginning because he was too caught up in stopping at every branch to eat a few! My mom had a half a bucket picked before we could get down there! Carter absolutely loved "picking" blueberries...."mmm" he would say after each handful.
The bushes were loaded with the yummiest & sweetest blueberries & the branches hung down low enough, just perfect for Carter's height!!! We ended up picking 19lbs and I am sure there could have been a couple more but Carter ate them!! HAHA!

still at the beginning of the row...
helping Lola pick
running up and down the row!
oh look, all of these for me!!!!
mmmmm....yummy!

Here is a video of Carter eating blueberries...watch how many he has in his hands, he was double- fisting it!!! MMMM...lip smacking good!!!!

seattle!

RJ and I had a wonderful time in Seattle. I missed Carter tons (it was the first time in 18mos that I had been away from him for more than 1 night! ahh!!). RJ woke me up at the crack of dawn Friday morning to drive up there! We got to our hotel about 9ish am and enjoyed a good mocha & some quick breakfast then it was time to head to Pike Place Market for there celebration!
the best part of wakin' up....
The market celebrated 100yrs! They had a small parade of horse drawn carriages & people dressed up like the early 1900's. It was a reenactment of how the market was back then. So you could buy produce right off the back of the wagon. There was a ton of people there!

The first! Had to stop by and pay homage to the coffee gods!

Beautiful flowers at the market!
the Puget Sound in the background
eating fresh blueberries! yummy!

For dinner we ate this place called Wild Ginger, a pan Asian style restaurant. It was sooooo good!If you like Asian food they I highly recommend you go there! We ordered off the satay bar (satay is super flavored meat on a stick with pickled cucumbers & peanut sauce to dip in!) It reminded us of our days spent in Singapore! We got the "young mountain lamb, the "street hawker beef & the "peasants chicken". so good!! I also had some super delicious Vietnamese Buddha veggie rolls with pineapple dipping sauce! YUM! Then we also ordered the Panang Beef Curry. It was soooo spicy hot! I could barely eat it & Rj DID!!! For those of you who don't know, Rj has been known to not be able to eat spicy stuff, not even the MILD sauce at Taco Bell! So this was a momentous event! haha!! We really enjoyed our dinner so go check it out!

Then after dinner we strolled back down to the market. We saw a bunch of women furiously digging through these garbage cans. We were like what the heck....it turns out at the end of the day the flower vendors toss all the unsold flowers in the GARBAGE! So that's why all the commotion! Crazy! There was a concert out in the park going on with some local talent. This one kid took the stage and was 15 but then he opened up his mouth and out came Johnny Cash. Seriously, the kid sounded exactly like him! It was so weird! He was good though!

The next day we got up and headed back down to the market one last time to get some fresh produce before we headed home. We got some of the best peaches I've tasted this year...called "oh my god" peaches! hahah...they were indeed yummy.

We had a great time & it was a good lil get-a-way. But it's definitely nice to be home! Hope you all had a good weekend!
cheers.

yay carter is!!! he has recently decided that he no longer needs to sit in his highchair. so it was off to find him a booster seat to sit at the table like a big boy! he was so giddy sitting there! he even got to eat corn on the cob like a big boy too! wow! what a day!!! =) he's too cute. he is growing up too fast! :(

look at me!
YUM!
he's really chomping down!! haha!!
we had a great weekend in seattle! i'll post pics soon!!! i had to share these first because he is so darn cute!!!

dig.

This afternoon we played out front and we brought out all our construction trucks! Carter had so much fun digging! He even dug out some dirt from one of Lola's planters! whoops! & while we were playing we met my parents new "pet"! Its a chipmunk, (Chip or maybe Dale?!) and he lives in the landscaped section where the bubblier rock is! He is in heaven there! My parents laid Filbert shells down instead of bark dust and so he thinks its a whole lifetime supply of food for him! (little does he know that most are empty shells!) but nonetheless, he still digs and swims in the shells then dives into the rock and bathes off! So we sat and watched him a for bit! It was so funny!

Carter and his own big diggerthe crew
Uh-oh! digging in Lola's planter!
dig dig dig
and dig some more
Chip or Dale! he found a nut!!!!

That was our day today!!!!

trucks.tractors.big diggers & blackberries!

We had a really good weekend, too short (aren't they all?!), but fun nonetheless! We went up to the park and played for a bit. We enjoyed browsing the shelves at Borders! We even got a new tractor book & one about fire engines! (and of course, we read them everyday!) The blackberries behind our house along the walking trail are so ripe & yummy, so we (as in daddy & a ladder) picked some! YUM! They fill the whole backyard with such a wonderful aroma! Then on Sunday we had to come over to Lola & Papi's b/c the big digger was going to working! YAY!

Carter on the swings! I just love this face!!!

pushing his dump truck in the backyard
watching rj's uncle tom & the big digger!
