The road to Hana

Ok, so I got yelled at by the hubby for being a blog slacker! he says that i will lose my blog readers if i don't post! whatever! you do some blogging, rj! haha! ;) so please post some comment love. i'd feel so loved! ;)

anyways....on one of the days during our vaca, my parents watched the kids while rj & i rented a car (a convertible!) & drove the road to Hana! it was fantastic! the road is super curvy, but no worse than the old scenic hwy in the Gorge (ok, so maybe a few hundred or so more curves!) the views are breathtaking!
enjoy!
crusin'
sugar corns! (actually its sugar cane but C called them sugar corns! haha! so i took this photo for him)
this church was so cool & was surrounded by swaying palm trees. it was built in the 1840s or something!

one of the waterfalls we saw!

1 of 2 black sand beaches (this one is less known about)

keanae peninsula. this is also less known about. but this town is like stepping back in time. so little & quaint. the BEST banana bread is located here too!

this church was built in 1850something (i think) and was built out of coral that divers drudged up from the ocean, until a freak storm washed up enough coral to finish it!

the black sand beach!

there was a photo shoot going on down on the rocks. we stopped and watched for a bit. then we figured out it was India Aire (singer)
some paparazzi! check out that lens!

In Hana we missed my great, great grandmother's store (Tutu's) so I didn't get to take a photo of it w/ me standing in front & we unfortunately did not get to see the red sand beach or the 7 sacred pools because the road was closed a little ways passed Hana! Oh well, we'll have to go back!
it was a great day (& a very long day!) & i am so thankful that my parents watched the kids (they went to the aquarium & saw big sharks!) for the day so the hubs & i could have a day to ourselves!
