pillowy clouds of bliss

yesterday morning, after brewing my cop of joe, opened the fridge & to my dismay, the whipped cream was out. drats.

light bulb! moment. there's whipping cream that needs to be used {left over from my mother's day breakfast of pumpkin french toast stuffed with a blackberry mascarpone cream, but that's deserves a whole post in itself.} so why not make my own whipped cream. duh.

i was too excited about making this that i forgot to take pictures of the process. but it's totally simple. & i mean so simple it's ridiculous.

to start: make sure your bowl & whisk are super cold. let 'em chill out in the freezer for 10mins or so. i used my stand mixer for this. who wants an arm workout first thing in the morning? not me.

this was the cream used. it comes from an organic creamery in Cali.
that's where happy cows come from right?

~6oz. of cream
1 tablespoon sugar
{how cute is this glass bottle? i am saving it to use as a vase once my flowers from the garden bloom! yay!}

whisk on high until stiff peaks form
& it looks like this heavenly, pillowy fluff.

scoop the little pillows up & place them gently on your morning mocha

sip & let your taste buds sing praises!
pure bliss.

**note: this is not a low-calorie treat & will not in any way help with your calorie burning workouts. but who cares. would ya just look at that heavenly fluff?! seriously...just indulge.

WOW that looks good...I think I'm going to have another cup of coffee--I'm way too easily influenced! ;-)
